Formed in 2012, the Latvian band Carnival Youth are known for their indie and neo-folk performances. Their experimental music is an artful fusion of the ascetics of folk music and the elements of modern instrumental rhythm, without drawing strict lines between the do’s and don’ts of the band’s creative writing process. Carnival Youth’s edgy lyrics and added special effects reveal the full spectrum of the band’s ideal musical formula. Carnival Youth’s debut EP is called “Never Have Enough” In May 2014 Carnival Youth did their debut at the premier emerging artist showcase event, The Great Escape in Brighton, UK. In 2014 they performed at music festivals like Sziget (Hungary), Positivus (Latvia), Open’er Festival (Poland). In autumn band will play the following showcase festivals – Vilnus Music Week (Lithuania), Reeperbahn (Germany), Waves Vienna (Austria), Waves Bratislava (Slovakia) and Lost in Music (Finland) “Never Have Enough” EP was released in Latvia on 26th of May, UK on 21st of July and Germany, Austria and Switzerland on 19th of September. In November 2014 Carnival Youth did 2 weeks tour in Germany and 5 dates tour in Latvia in support of debut album “No Clouds Allowed” released in Latvia on 20th of October. In Riga band played packed show at Palladium Riga (capacity 1600). Album “No Clouds Allowed” is released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on 13th of February followed by 13 dates tour in the region in March. In January 2015 Carnival Youth played at leading showcase event in Europe – Eurosonic.
