'In the Key of G' is the first official release from 'The Finesse'. The album is dedicated to the memory of Douglas Greenhalgh, a dear friend and mentor to the band through their high school years and beyond.
The album is billed as an EP but packs an extra punch with six full-length tunes. Right out of the gates feel the deep-down rock kick you in the chest with "The May", a story of a love that has passed. Then the train keeps rolling with "Stickin' In", a more funky tune that pays a little homage to bands like "Tower of Power" with its fresh yet familiar funk/groove roots. The mood changes to triumphant on the third song "Golden Wing", a direct tribute to the love and knowledge given by the band's high school band director Douglas "G" Greenhalgh who was an motorcycle enthusiast and head of the local Goldwing Riders chapter.
