Sarita and Schroeder's first exclusive collaboration (both were founding members of award winning ethnic-trance-fusion band, Hamsa Lila), Bingo Americana Blends Sarita's tastey songwriting and vocals with Schroeder's exquisite horn arrangments, analogue synths, bass and flute playing. Bingo Americana touches on many genres crossing the boundries of funk and folk...country, pop, and experimental sample-y mayhem. It features some very talented guests on Trombone, Cello, and Vibes from various bay area bands such as Rosin Coven, Hamsa Lila, LemonLimeLites, and Dr. Abacus. Bingo American comes with a beautiful book of original artwork and lyrics.

SCHROEDER:

John Schroeder plays all flutes, saxophones, jawharp and melodica heard on Hamsa Lila's critically acclaimed "Gathering One" album, as well as leading the cartoon jazz band "Dr. Abacus" ( www.dr-abacus.com), producing a series of Hip Hop tracks and atmospheric 'FreakTapes' ( www.insiduous.com ) and recording and performing with his wife, Sarita, as "Bubblejuice!" (real music for kids: www.bubblejuice.org ) and "Bingo Americana" (www.bingoamericana.net). He has recently completed a screenplay about John Muir and Theodore Roosevelt, composed the soundtrack for an independent film, and performed live music and sound design for the Shakespeare Company of Sun Valley Idaho.

Currently he is operating a recording studio in Sebastopol CA., making instruments (inspired by his travels throughout Morocco and enthusiasm for Gnawa music), designing Mosaic for architectural application and playing with his 3 children.

SARITA:

An original member of Hamsa Lila, Sarita Pockell performed the Kora, as well as many of the lead vocals and vocal arrangements on the "Gathering One" album.

After a classical vocal career which brought her to tour the world with award winning choirs, Sarita lived and traveled throughout Latin America collecting traditional melodies as she visited with many indigenous people from Mexico to Argentina Sarita self-produced her solo album "Songlines" (www.saritasong.com), a compilation of her own ethnic-spirit-folk songs inspired by her travels. More recently, she co-produced and recorded "Bingo Americana" (www.bingoamericana.net) with her husband John Schroeder.

Currently, she is giving unique music and recording classes and workshops for children as will as performing the songs from her "Bubblejuice! Real Music for Kids" album. (www.bubblejuice.org) and the celebrated "The Adventures of Kid Kaleidoscope". It has been said that she "exudes the magic of a real life Mary Poppins".
