Scattering Stars
Like her music, Michelle Qureshi is “layered like silk scarves, one upon another”. Scattering Stars, her newest release, is a delicate yet powerful testament to her mastery of a rich inner world spoken through music. Enchanting and healing, mysterious and mesmerizing, the music on Scattering Stars is an invitation to a mystical musical journey. While Michelle writes and performs in various styles of music, she remains rooted in the life of the soul. Drawn to Sufi mysticism and the writings of Rumi and Hafiz, she has created a compelling body of music integrating her own classical training with an Eastern ethos that hints at the world of emergent ambient music.
Michelle Qureshi is an accomplished composer, multi-instrumentalist, and classically trained guitarist. She combines her instrumental artistry with her passion for creating music. Her work is drawn from delicate, soulful sounds, the product of a creative, spiritually centered mind. She composes music that ranges from simple, subtle melodies, to remarkably complex, orchestral like works, fusing genres and sonorities into music that is emotional, inspiring, and expertly crafted.
Michelle performs her music at festivals, house concerts, yoga studios, art galleries, and special events. Her music is broadcast on radio stations throughout the world and licensed on a global platform. Scattering Stars is preceded by six other albums of her original work, published by her label Music as Metaphor: Margalla Hills (2015), Meditations (2014), Flow (2014), Suite Beats (2014), Illumination (2012), and Of Light (2012).
