My real name is Othoniel. I go by 7b because I feel that this best describes the environment in which I create my music (locked away, by myself in an urban apartment). I grew up in Connecticut and studied music theory at the University of Bridgeport. I then moved to NYC, where I became exposed to all different kinds of musical styles and influences. Although I've always had a passion for music, I really feel that the culture of New York City, the people i've met along the way and it's vibrant music community have played an important role in my development.
I now reside just across the river in New Jersey, take some classes and continue developing my craft. Whether success in music is my future or not, I will always write it and continue trying to out do myself. I will always be looking for ways to push myself creatively and seek opportunities to work with and learn from others.
I feel that in many cases, success is the worst thing that can happen to artists. I have a reverent fear of it.
