“I was itching to start playing the songs I was writing” recalls Dan. “So I started a band and we performed incessantly for awhile.” After building a local following in the Eugene, Salem and Portland area and recording an independent project in 1999, he began to perform in a solo context more often and started honing the stripped-down solo acoustic versions of the songs which he has become known for.

Dan is really focused on authentic communication and that crazy moment when a lyric and a rhythm connects an audience with a performer. Its all about providing a complex and wildly rhythmic foundation on acoustic guitar while remaining focused on gut-level realism and an intense musical structure that defies your ty
