Leisur Hive (formerlly Leisurehive) were formed by Daniel Knowler and Maria Vellanz in an attempt to fuse angular, avant-rock songforms with an emotional, visceral intensity.

Their abrasive tones have been compared to such musical individualists as Swans, Cranes, Wire, Cop Shoot Cop and The Fall, but Leisur Hive exist very much in their own personal world.

Spasm was originally released in 2001. Since then Leisur Hive have expanded the line-up to include bassist Mark Bishop (Living With Eating Disorders, Colt etc) and drummer Bob Leith (Cardiacs, ATV etc).

A new album is due for release at the end of May 2008.
