Der Blaue Reiter
With ‘Der Blaue Reiter’, GHEIST deliver another masterfully produced house tune, remaining
true to their sound. The track is seven minutes of driving, melodic bliss: an exhilarating lead
synth, warm bassline, and stabby beats, all working together in perfect sync.
‘Der Blaue Reiter’, which translates into ‘the blue rider’ in German, is named after an art
collective of the same name, centred around Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc, who were
two pioneers of Expressionism in the early 20th century.
The Munich collective often drew parallels between painting and music, which inspired
GHEIST to pay homage to a movement whose ideas remain visionary to this day.
“As we draw influences from different things we find beautiful or interesting, this is a story
that truly inspired us,” GHEIST say. “Not only did Der Blaue Reiter create something entirely
new, they also went for their vision of how to do it as a creative collective.”
