Bass Trap / Acid Guard

Bass Trap / Acid Guard

Applauding new talent with a bit of help from familiar names, Rhythmetic Records brings its 29th drop with a production duo that is already widely acclaimed in the scene. Softcash & Sergi have been working on music for a year and finally have created a piece their satisfied with, no doubt destined to make waves from these two brilliant hands. Following some future releases marked for later this year, the production team has already received support from artists like Siopis, Amine Edge and Finnebassen among others. With different ears for house music, Softcash's funky basslines and hip hop vocals mesh well with Sergi's atmospheric melodies and heavy bass to create one unique sound. With help from Alex Dimou and Lastraw, who've already proved their worth on the imprint with past releases, this four track journey is one to cherish.

A poppy deep house journey with a systematic vocal sample from Daft Punk's Technologic, make Bass trap a fun trip. Spaced out percs and plucks supply a teched out groove with the duo's signature use of bumping basslines that stomp throughout this textured landscape. Through slick drops and a break that strips down to nothing before dropping everything with full force, the production team wastes no time at showcasing their talents with this opening gem. Turning Bass trap into a more somber and artistic beat, Lastraw reformats Bass trap into a thinned out swaying flow of effortless love. 80s influenced synths and bass hooks give Lastraw's rendition a classic and gritty feeling of analog sound.

Softcash & Sergi pack a punch of acid with their second tune of bubbling resonance. Acid guard continues the theme of melodic and thick basslines with light percussion groove and a somber vocal creating an eerie moment as a Softcash drops a hip-hop vocal bringing in an essence of attitude. Smaller moments of drum pause and delayed nuance gives Acid guard its charming allure. Lastly, having also previous released on Rhythmetic Records and also being remixed by big names like Maya Jane Coles and Tigerstripes, Alex Dimou takes Acid guard down a more house inspired road. With rolling snares and a wobbling filtered bass, his use of hard kick, bass, and pitched vocals give Acid guard a tougher feel of spooky house. All four tracks promise a specific flair of beats for any taste as the label marches on towards it's 30th release. Raising a family of talented artists and Djs, we're sure Rhythmetic Records will be around for 30 more.
