Colleagues and critics were in agreement: Vása Príhoda (1900 - 1960) was technically infallible as a violin virtuoso, Ruggiero Ricci went so far as to call him the "absolute violinist". He had received his first lesson at his father's music school, and at the age of thirteen was already on stage in Prague performing the concerts of Beethoven and Brahms.
