BB SEATON - READY FOR THE WORLD.. There are many unsung heroes on the long path of Jamaican music and Harris "BB" Seaton is one of those. Of course, every genuine lover of the fascinating sounds that emerged from the island of Jamaica throughout the years, knows he was the leader of the Rocksteady-era supergroup the Gaylads, knows that his Soul Beat Label has become with time a synonym for higher standard music and sweet harmonies. They should also be aware that with his hit song "Africa", he pionered thousands of songs devoted to the slaves motherland in the decades to come. They even might know too that BB Seaton has written classics for dozens of Jamaican singers. first aming them, his old time friend Ken Boothe, with whom he would form one of the most understated self-contained bands of the island's history, the Conscious Minds. Too many still ignore the important part he played in the development of his country's musican industry, as the man who introcuced Jackie Mittoo to Clement "Coxone" Dodd and also as the auditioner of the Heptones, Melodians or the Termites and most of all as the man who first organised artists in order to defend their rights whilst being the Vice President of the Jamacia Federantion of Musicians. He today represents a Godfather figure. It's not by chance that BB is so highly respected among the veteran musicians and singers as more than that, Harris Seaton is a man who devoted his life to music in any way he could, with constant passion for the right word in the right place and the perfect guitar riff. Today, almost half a century after he first stepped in a studio, his passion his still here. His soulful voice and his restless perfectionism too. In his wonderful song "After All This Time", which is also the title of his Anthology, BB wrote and sung these words: "My heart is full and I know just who I am but I'm still humble like a lamb, after all this time".
